Join Transport Scotland’s Senior Management Team as Director of Finance and Corporate Services.
Transport Scotland is seeking a senior leader with a strong finance background to lead the financial strategy for a £4bn portfolio. You will ensure robust governance, statutory compliance, and value-for-money transport services.
You will play a pivotal role in delivering National Transport Strategy, helping to deliver a sustainable, inclusive, safe and accessible transport system.
About the role
The role
In this role, you will lead the financial strategy for a £4bn transport portfolio, ensuring robust governance, statutory compliance, and value for money.
You will oversee corporate services, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice across functions including HR, IT, information governance, communications, facilities, risk management, and health and safety. You’ll provide strategic input on capital investment, manage sponsorship of transport bodies, and champion risk and audit assurance.
You will also play a key role in organisational resilience and support Scotland’s transport system through major decisions and events.
Who we’re looking for
You’ll be a qualified accountant and member of a recognised professional body, with up-to-date CPD.
A proven senior finance leader, you’ll bring extensive experience managing large, complex budgets and multiple functions, alongside deep knowledge of UK accounting frameworks.
Skilled in governance, strategic planning and delivering value for money, you’ll combine commercial acumen with political awareness and exceptional leadership.
