About the role

This senior leadership role sits at the heart of education reform in Scotland. You will set the strategic direction for His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Education (HMIE), integrating new legislative requirements, and establishing a sustainable operating model.

The role involves improving and innovating the approach to inspection, driving efficiency, and increasing its impact across the system.

It also requires engaging with senior leaders to influence policy, challenge practice, and secure better outcomes for learners, raising standards in performance, through evidence and sound judgement.
