Our Graduate Development Programme offers an exciting career pathway to leadership positions in the Civil Service. You’ll be working at the heart of government, making a real difference to the everyday lives of people in Scotland by helping to shape and deliver vital public services.

Working on key projects in policy areas like Health, Education, and the Economy, you’ll develop a wide range of professional skills and gain valuable experience through a mix of work placements.

Our programme is delivered over 3.5 years, providing you with the opportunities, support and learning you need to achieve your full potential and become a confident and inspiring future leader.

You’ll complete three structured work placements, gaining hands-on experience while working with Ministers, senior leaders, public-sector teams and partners to deliver benefits and impact on a range of high-profile initiatives and projects.

We’ll support you every step of the way, providing in-post mentoring and a programme of learning and development focused on your personal and career development.
